Bagworm Moth Larvae

Found on trees, shrubs, and sometimes wandering on walls or fences in residential and wooded areas.

Foliage of various trees and shrubs including evergreens and deciduous trees.

The larva constructs a portable case out of silk and bits of twigs, leaves, or debris, carrying it everywhere as it feeds and moves. Females are wingless and remain inside the bag.

High populations can heavily defoliate and damage ornamental trees and shrubs. They generally do not pose a direct health risk to humans.
