Natural Habitat
Found mostly in coniferous forests, but often enters homes in fall and winter seeking shelter.

Herbivorous; feeds on the sap of developing cones on conifer trees.
Behavior Patterns
Known for a slow, clumsy flight and emits a pungent odor when disturbed or crushed. Hibernates as an adult.
Risks & Benefits
Harmless to humans as they do not bite or sting, though can be a nuisance pest in homes. No significant ecosystem benefit other than being a food source for predators.
