Behavior Patterns
Adults are capable of flight and are attracted to light. They have a symbiotic relationship with yeast that allows them to survive on nutrient-poor diets. The larvae do the most damage by tunneling through food sources.

Major stored-product pest that can contaminate large quantities of human food. They pose no direct medical risk to humans but can cause significant economic damage.
