Brown Marmorated Stink Bug

Native to East Asia but invasive in North America and Europe; found in gardens, orchards, and inside homes during cold weather.

Polyphagous herbivore; feeds on a wide range of plants including fruits (apples, peaches, berries), vegetables (tomatoes, corn, peppers), and ornamental trees.

Known for seeking shelter in man-made structures to overwinter. They release a pungent odor from scent glands when threatened or crushed as a defense mechanism.

Major agricultural pest that damages crops. While harmless to humans (they do not bite or sting), they are a significant nuisance in homes and can cause allergic reactions in some individuals due to their secretions.
