Debris-carrying Lacewing Larva (Junk Bug)

Predatory; feeds aggressively on soft-bodied insects such as aphids, mealybugs, scale insects, whiteflies, and insect eggs using curved, hollow mandibles.

Larvae pile dead prey, plant fragments, exuviae, and lint onto specialized curved setae (hairs) on their back as camouflage to hide from predators like birds and ants.

Extremely beneficial for biological pest control in gardens and agriculture. Harmless to humans and property, though they can give a harmless, minor nip if handled directly.
