Drugstore Beetle

Pantropical and temperate regions; commonly found in kitchens, pantries, and pharmacies.

Polyphagous; eats dried plant products, flour, spices, pet food, and even medicinal drugs or leather.

Adults are capable of flight and are attracted to light. Females lay eggs on food sources where larvae tunnel and feed until pupation.

Primary risk is as a stored-product pest causing food contamination and economic loss; they do not bite humans or pets.
