Natural Habitat

Woodlands, forest edges, and areas near vineyards where host plants are present.

Diet & Feeding

Adults feed primarily on foliage and fruit of grapevines and related plants. Larvae feed on decaying wood and roots.

Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal adults are attracted to lights at night and spend the daytime resting on or near host plants. Larvae develop in rotting stumps and logs over one to two years.

Risks & Benefits

Can be a minor agricultural pest by feeding on grape foliage and fruit, but generally does not cause severe widespread damage.
