Tawny Cockroach (or Amber Wood Cockroach)

Outdoor environments, typically found in leaf litter, under bark, in woodland areas, gardens, and sometimes wandering into houses by accident.

Detritivore; feeds on decaying organic matter, leaf litter, rotting wood, and occasionally pollen.

Unlike typical household pest cockroaches, these are primarily outdoor species and are active during the day. They can fly well (especially males) and are often attracted to artificial lights at night, frequently straying indoors by mistake.

They are generally considered harmless. They do not infest indoor structures like pest cockroaches do because they cannot survive long-term indoors. They play an ecological role as decomposers in woodland and garden ecosystems.
