Long-legged spider beetle

Often found indoors in stored-food areas, cupboards, and bird or rodent nests.

Larvae feed on dry organic matter, including stored foods, seeds, and animal debris; adults may feed little or not at all.

Small, dark, globular-bodied beetle with long legs and antennae; it is nocturnal and may wander across walls or floors.

Harmless to people and pets, but infestations can contaminate or damage stored dry foods.
