Click Beetle

Found in forests, fields, and rotting wood, occasionally entering homes near vegetation.

Larvae feed on plant roots and decaying organic matter, while adults typically consume nectar, pollen, and plant sap.

Nocturnal and active climbers; when threatened, they snap a thoracic hinge to launch themselves into the air with a distinct clicking sound.

Harmless to humans and non-toxic, though larvae can occasionally be minor agricultural pests on crops.
