Bed bug

Indoor environments, particularly in cracks and crevices of beds, mattresses, furniture, and baseboards.

Hematophagous (feeds on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals).

Nocturnal and highly secretive, hiding during the day in dark crevices and emerging at night to feed.

Bites can cause itchy welts, allergic reactions, and significant psychological stress or sleep disturbance; they provide no ecological benefit indoors.
