Broad-nosed weevil (probable)

Usually found on vegetation, leaf litter, soil, and occasionally indoors after being carried in on plants or clothing.

Adults generally chew leaves, stems, or roots; larvae commonly feed on plant roots or decaying plant material.

Typically slow-moving and may feign death when disturbed. Most species are nocturnal or shelter under debris during daylight; females lay eggs near host plants.

Usually harmless to people and pets, and it does not bite or sting. Some species are garden or crop pests, while others contribute to decomposition and serve as prey for wildlife.
