Damp or humid indoor environments with high moisture, often found in books, pantries, wallpaper, and areas with mold growth.

Microscopic mold, fungi, algae, and organic starches such as book glue or grain paste.

Scavengers that thrive in high humidity; they do not fly and are often found in large numbers where mold is present.

They do not bite humans or pets and are not known to transmit diseases; however, they can be nuisance pests and their presence indicates a moisture or mold problem.
