Internal feeders where females excavate a hole in a grain kernel to lay a single egg; the larva develops entirely within the seed before emerging as an adult.
Risks & Benefits
A major agricultural and household pest that destroys stored food supplies; they pose no direct health risk to humans but cause significant economic loss.
