Granary Weevil (or Rice Weevil)

Pantries, grain storage facilities, warehouses, and homes where dried grains are stored.

Larvae feed inside whole grains (wheat, corn, rice); adults feed on the same grains and some processed grain products.

Internal feeders where females excavate a hole in a grain kernel to lay a single egg; the larva develops entirely within the seed before emerging as an adult.

A major agricultural and household pest that destroys stored food supplies; they pose no direct health risk to humans but cause significant economic loss.
