Household Casebearer

Found inside buildings and homes, especially in humid environments, on walls and ceilings.

Larvae feed on spider webs, wool, hair, and organic detritus.

Larvae construct a flat, diamond-shaped silken case covered in sand and dust for protection. They can turn around inside the case to feed from either end.

Generally harmless to humans but can be a minor household pest by damaging natural fibers and spider webs.
