Bed bug

Found globally in human dwellings, particularly in cracks and crevices of mattresses, box springs, bed frames, and surrounding furniture.

Hematophagous (feeds exclusively on blood, primarily from humans and other warm-blooded animals)

Nocturnal and highly secretive, hiding during the day in dark crevices and emerging at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis through five nymphal stages.

Risks include painful, itchy bites, secondary skin infections from scratching, and psychological distress from infestations. They are not known to transmit infectious diseases, and they offer no notable benefits to humans.
