Carpet Beetle

Found indoors in carpets, upholstery, and stored clothing, as well as outdoors in bird nests or on flowering plants.

Larvae eat natural fibers such as wool, silk, hair, and feathers; adults feed on pollen and nectar.

Adults are attracted to light and often found near windows; larvae are scavengers that prefer dark, undisturbed areas.

Can cause damage to household textiles and animal products; larval hairs may cause skin irritation or allergic reactions in humans.
