Pygmy Grasshopper

Found near wetlands, marshes, damp meadows, riverbanks, and muddy edges of ponds.

Feeds primarily on algae, mosses, lichens, and decaying organic matter.

Active during the day, they are strong jumpers and often fly when disturbed. Unlike typical grasshoppers, they overwinter as adults.

They pose no risk to humans and do not cause significant agricultural damage. They serve as an important food source for birds, amphibians, and predatory insects.
