Bed bug

Indoor environments, specifically cracks and crevices of mattresses, bed frames, furniture, and baseboards.

Hematophagous; feeds exclusively on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals.

Nocturnal and highly secretive, hiding during the day and emerging at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis through five nymphal stages before reaching adulthood.

Risks include painful, itchy bites, potential secondary skin infections from scratching, and severe psychological distress or anxiety due to infestations. They provide no known ecological benefits to human living spaces.
