Carpet Beetle

Indoor environments such as homes, warehouses, and museums; outdoors they are often found on flowering plants.

Larvae feed on natural fibers including wool, silk, feathers, and hair, as well as dried food products. Adults primarily feed on pollen and nectar.

Larvae prefer dark, undisturbed locations like baseboards or under furniture. They undergo a complete metamorphosis from egg to larva, pupa, and adult.

They are significant pests that can damage clothing, carpets, and upholstery. While they do not bite humans, larval hairs can cause allergic skin reactions or respiratory irritation in some individuals.
