Adults feed on flower nectar from various plants. Caterpillars feed on leaves of brassicas, including cabbage, kale, broccoli, mustard, and nasturtiums.

Diurnal flyers that spend sunny days nectar-feeding and searching for host plants to lay single pale eggs under leaves. Undergoes complete metamorphosis.

Adults serve as mild pollinators for various wildflowers and garden plants. However, the caterpillars (imported cabbageworms) are widespread agricultural pests that can defoliate cruciferous crops.
