Natural Habitat

Found indoors, particularly in cracks and crevices of mattresses, box springs, bed frames, headboards, and surrounding furniture.

Hematophagous (feeds exclusively on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals)

Behavior Patterns

Nocturnal and highly secretive, emerging mostly at night to feed while hosts are sleeping. They hide in tight clusters during the day.

Risks include itchy, red welts from bites, allergic reactions, secondary skin infections from scratching, and significant psychological stress or sleep deprivation. They provide no known benefits to humans.
