Household Casebearer

Indoor environments, often found on walls in garages, bathrooms, and bedrooms where high humidity is present.

Larvae feed on spider webs, wool, felt, furs, human hair, and silk fibers.

The larva constructs a portable silken case covered in sand or hair. It can pull its head and legs into either end of the case for protection and to feed.

Generally harmless to humans but can be a minor pest of fabrics and silk materials; they help clean up spider webs in the home.
