Active during daylight, highly mobile, and capable of flight. They overwinter as adults in plant debris and leaf litter, emerging in early spring to mate and lay eggs in plant stems.

Risks: Major agricultural pest that causes significant damage to crops like fruits, vegetables, and cotton by injecting toxic saliva that deforms or kills plant tissue. Benefits: Serves as a food source for various insect predators and birds in natural ecosystems.
