Ensign Wasp

Found worldwide, often around human dwellings, basements, and structures where cockroaches reside.

Adults feed on nectar and plant juices, while the larvae are obligate parasitoids of cockroach oothecae (egg cases).

Known for their distinct habit of bobbing their abdomen up and down while walking, resembling a signaling flag or 'ensign'. They are solitary and do not build nests.

They are completely harmless to humans (do not sting or bite) and are highly beneficial as natural biocontrol agents that help reduce cockroach populations.
