Katydid (bush-cricket)

Vegetation in forests, grasslands, gardens, and shrubs; often attracted to outdoor lights at night.

Mostly leaves, flowers, and other plant material; some species also eat small insects.

Nocturnal, with long antennae and powerful hind legs for jumping. Many males produce calls by rubbing their wings together.

Generally harmless to people; some species can damage plants, while others help control small insect populations.
