Drugstore Beetle (or Stegobium Beetle)

Domestic environments, specifically pantries, kitchens, and areas where dried biological materials are stored.

Generalist feeders consuming dried plant products like flour, cereal, dry pet food, and spices, as well as non-food items like leather, books, and wool.

Adults are capable of flight and are attracted to light. They lay eggs on food sources; the larvae burrow into the material and can remain within it for several months during development.

They are significant household and commercial pests that contaminate stored food products with frass and cocoons. They pose no direct physical threat to humans but can cause economic damage to food supplies and artifacts.
