Carpet Beetle

Indoors near carpets, clothing, pantries, baseboards, and outdoors in bird or animal nests.

Adults feed on flower pollen and nectar, while larvae feed on natural fibers such as wool, silk, feathers, fur, dead insects, and stored food products.

Adults are attracted to light and often found crawling on walls or near windows. Larvae avoid light and hide in dark, undisturbed areas where organic matter accumulates.

Non-harmful to humans directly as they do not bite or transmit diseases. However, the larvae are household pests that can damage natural fabrics, upholstered furniture, clothing, and stored grains.
