Carpet Beetle (Larva or Adult)

Found indoors in homes, especially in dark undisturbed areas such as carpets, closets, woolens, pantries, and upholstered furniture.

Larvae feed on animal-based fibers including wool, silk, feathers, leather, and fur, as well as dead insects and sometimes grains.

Larvae tend to avoid light and hide in dark crevices where they feed continuously; adults are often found near windows trying to get outside.

Risks include damaging carpets, clothing, and stored natural fibers; benefits are minimal indoors, though they act as decomposers in nature.
