Flea beetle (likely)

Usually found on vegetation, especially leaves and stems in gardens, fields, and woodland margins. Adults may wander indoors accidentally.

Adults chew tiny “shot holes” in plant leaves, while larvae typically feed on roots or underground plant parts. They do not feed on humans or blood.

Adults are active, quick-moving beetles that commonly jump when disturbed using enlarged hind legs. They overwinter in leaf litter, soil, or protected vegetation and reproduce on host plants.

Harmless to people, pets, clothing, and buildings; bites are not expected. Some species are garden or crop pests, though they also form part of food webs and help support predators.
