Bed Bug

Found in human dwellings, typically hidden in mattress seams, bed frames, and furniture crevices.

Obligate hematophages, feeding exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Nocturnal parasites that emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and can survive for months without a blood meal.

While not known to transmit diseases, their bites cause itching, allergic reactions, and significant psychological distress. They are considered a major urban pest with no known ecosystem benefits.
