Bed bug

Found indoors, typically hiding in cracks and crevices of mattresses, box springs, headboards, bed frames, and surrounding furniture.

Hematophagous (feeds exclusively on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals).

Noxurnal pests that emerge at night to feed. They are wingless, cannot jump, but crawl very quickly and hide in dark, sheltered places during the day.

Risks include itchy, irritating bites and psychological stress associated with infestations, though they are not known to transmit infectious diseases. They provide no ecological benefits in human living spaces.
