Green June Beetle

Fields, lawns, and gardens with rich, organic soil and decaying matter.

Adults feed on soft fruits, sap, and flower nectar. Larvae consume decaying vegetation and grassroots.

Adults fly with a loud buzzing sound resembling a bumblebee during warm summer days. Larvae move on their backs using stiff dorsal bristles.

Adults can damage ripening fruit crops and turfgrass roots, but larvae aerate soil and recycle organic material.
