Goldenrod Crab Spider (or Flower Crab Spider)

Gardens, meadows, grasslands, and areas with abundant flowering plants or foliage.

Carnivorous (insectivore). Feeds on pollinating insects such as bees, butterflies, flies, and moths.

Ambush predator that does not build webs. Females can slowly change their color between white and yellow over several days to match the flowers or leaves they inhabit for camouflage.

Harmless to humans; while they possess venom to subdue prey, their fangs are rarely able to pierce human skin and the venom is medically harmless. Beneficial for controlling garden pest populations, though they occasionally prey on beneficial pollinators.
