Larvae feed on spider webs, wool, hair, and organic silk fibers.

The larva constructs a protective silk case covered in sand, dust, and debris. They can move and feed from both ends of the case.

Potential pest of clothing and textiles made from animal fibers; generally harmless to humans but can be a nuisance.
