Bed Bug

Found inside residential homes, hotels, and communal areas, typically nesting within mattresses, bed frames, cracks, and crevices near sleeping hosts.

Strictly hematophagous (blood-feeding); they primarily feed on human blood but may bite other warm-blooded animals if humans are unavailable.

Nocturnal pests that emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis with five nymphal stages, each requiring a blood meal to advance. They are highly skilled hitchhikers on luggage and clothing.

Risks include red, itchy welts and psychological distress/insomnia; severe infestations can lead to anemia. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans but are considered a significant public health pest.
