Green sweat bee

Gardens, woodland edges, and other flower-rich areas across the Americas.

Adults feed on nectar and pollen; larvae develop on pollen provisions.

Usually solitary, though some species nest communally in dead wood or soil. The metallic green head and thorax with a banded abdomen are characteristic of several sweat-bee groups.

An important pollinator; it may sting if handled or trapped, but is not typically aggressive.
