Spider beetle

Dark, dry indoor areas such as pantries, cupboards, wall voids, and stored-food spaces.

Larvae feed on dried organic materials, including cereals, flour, pet food, dead insects, and other stored products; adults feed little.

Adults are shiny, rounded, and spider-like, with reduced or hidden wings and long legs. They are nocturnal, slow-moving, and often remain concealed in cracks or undisturbed debris.

Generally harmless to people and do not bite or transmit disease. They can contaminate or damage stored food and occasionally infest museum specimens or other dry materials.
