Avoids light, preferring dark, undisturbed areas. Larvae spin silken tubes or mats while feeding. Life cycle lasts 65-90 days depending on temperature.

Significant pest to household fabrics and textiles; can damage expensive clothing and heirloom rugs. No health risk to humans.
