Human dwellings, particularly in mattress seams, bed frames, headboards, upholstered furniture, and cracks/crevices near sleeping areas.

Obligate hematophage; feeds exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Nocturnal parasites that hide during the day in tight spaces and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis passing through five nymphal stages, each requiring a blood meal to molt.

Pest species with no known ecological benefits in human environments. They inflict itchy bites that can lead to secondary skin infections, sleep deprivation, allergic reactions, and significant psychological distress, although they are not known to efficiently transmit diseases to humans.
