Flat, wingless, reddish-brown adults hide by day and feed mainly at night; they can survive for months without feeding and spread by hitchhiking in belongings.
Risks & Benefits
Bites can cause itchy skin reactions and disturbed sleep, but bed bugs are not known to transmit disease. They provide no meaningful household benefit.
