Small dark beetle (likely carpet beetle)

Indoors on walls, windowsills, carpets, upholstery, and stored textiles; adults may also occur outdoors on flowers.

Adults feed mainly on pollen and nectar. Larvae consume keratin-rich materials such as wool, fur, feathers, hair, and dead insects.

Adults crawl or fly toward light and may appear on walls; larvae are hairy, secretive, and shed bristly skins. Development can take several months to over a year indoors.

Larvae can damage natural-fiber clothing, carpets, and museum specimens, while shed hairs may irritate sensitive skin. Adults are harmless and contribute to pollination outdoors.
