Ladybug Pupae

Found globally on many plant species including agricultural crops, gardens, and meadows where prey is abundant.

During this pupal stage, it does not eat; however, as larvae and adults, they consume aphids, scale insects, and mites.

This is the stationary life stage between the larval and adult phases. The pupa remains attached to a surface (like the wheat head shown) as it undergoes metamorphosis over several days.

Highly beneficial to ecosystems and agriculture as they act as natural pest control. Some species can be invasive or a nuisance to humans when they congregate indoors during winter.
