Booklouse (likely)

Warm, humid indoor areas, especially around books, cardboard, stored foods, window frames, and upholstery. They favor moldy or damp microhabitats.

Feeds mainly on microscopic mold, fungi, organic residues, and occasionally starch-based materials; it does not bite people or animals.

Usually pale, wingless, and slow-moving, often occurring in clusters where humidity is high. Populations can increase rapidly in damp conditions and decline when areas are dried.

Harmless to humans and pets and not known to transmit disease. They can indicate excess moisture and may contaminate or damage stored paper products, while also helping consume fungal material.
