Natural Habitat
Indoor environments, particularly in and around sleeping areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and floorboards.
Diet & Feeding
Obligate hematophagous (blood-eaters), primarily feeding on human blood but will feed on other warm-blooded animals if necessary.
Behavior Patterns
Mainly nocturnal; they hide in dark crevices during the day and emerge at night to feed. They reproduce quickly and can survive several months without food.
Risks & Benefits
No known benefits. Risks include itchy skin reactions, allergic responses, sleeplessness, and anxiety. They are not known to transmit diseases to humans but are difficult and expensive to eradicate.
