Booklouse

Damp and warm environments with high humidity, often found in libraries, pantries, and near moisture-damaged wood or paper.

Starchy materials, mold, mildew, fungi, and organic debris found in book bindings and wallpaper paste.

Mostly nocturnal and very fast runners; they do not fly. They thrive in humidity above 50% and reproduce rapidly in damp conditions.

They are considered harmless to humans and do not bite or transmit disease; however, they are common nuisance pests that can damage paper products and contaminate starches.
