Flamboyant Flower Beetle (also known as Harlequin Flower Beetle)

Tropical rainforests and woodlands of Central and East Africa

Adults feed on ripe tree fruit and tree sap; larvae consume decaying wood and decomposing leaf litter.

Diurnal species that spend time climbing branches and foliage in search of food. Males possess a Y-shaped horn on their head used to fight rival males for mates and territory.

Harmless to humans. They act as beneficial decomposers in nature by recycling organic plant material into fertile soil nutrients and are popular pets/exhibit insects due to their vibrant coloration.
