Found worldwide in indoor habitats, specifically kitchens, pantries, warehouses, and food processing facilities.

Scavengers that feed on stored dry goods including cereals, flour, pasta, nuts, dried fruits, seeds, and spices.

They are highly mobile, can squeeze into tiny cracks in packaging, and are active year-round in warm indoor environments. They do not fly but move quickly.

They are major household pests that contaminate food supplies with larvae, cocoons, and waste. They do not bite or sting humans and do not spread disease, but infested food must be discarded.
