Bed Bug

Human dwellings, particularly in and around mattresses, bed frames, furniture seams, and wall crevices

Obligate hematophage; feeds exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, mainly humans

Mostly nocturnal, emerging from dark harborages at night to feed while hosts sleep. They are wingless and move by crawling. After feeding, they swell and turn a darker reddish-brown.

Risks: Biting pests that cause itchy welts, skin irritation, sleep disturbance, and psychological distress. They do not typically transmit diseases to humans. Benefits: None.
