Cellar Spider

Found worldwide in dark, damp places such as cellars, basements, crawl spaces, attics, and the corners of rooms in houses.

They feed primarily on other spiders, insects, and occasionally woodlice, using their long legs to wrap prey in silk before biting them.

Known for vibrating rapidly in their webs when disturbed to confuse predators, and for building irregular, tangled, non-sticky webs in corners.

Completely harmless to humans as their fangs are rarely able to puncture human skin and their venom is weak. They are beneficial because they help control populations of pests, mosquitoes, and even venomous spiders like black widows.
